Milam County Junior Livestock Show
March 26 - 28, 2009
Dates for the 2009 Milam County Junior Livestock Show have been set for
March 26 - 28, 2009. Rules and entry forms are available on the county
website and in the Extension Office. 4-Hers are responsible for the
rules, so read the general rules and the special rules for your animal.
Note: there are rule changes for the 2009 show.
Here are some of the major dates you need to mark on your calendars for
the Milam County Jr. Livestock Show.
November 1
Non-registered beef heifers must be tagged, contact the steer
superintendent
November 24
Tag-in date for: Market Lamb, Goat, Hogs, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. YEB
November 24
Tag-in date for: Non Registered Breeding Meat Goats, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
YEB
November 24
Tag-in date for: Non Registered Breeding gilts, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. YEB
November 28
Market Broilers order due from Ag Teacher or Extension Office
February 19
Market Bunnies tattooed, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. YEB
February 27
Entry Deadline
New Change - Entry cards and fees must be turned into
the show secretary on show registration night. Dates will be announced
at a later time. Registration will be in Thorndale, Rockdale, and
Cameron in February 2009. All entries must be received by secretary no
later than February 27,
2009. After February 27, late entries will be accepted until March 15th
for an additional $25.00 per entry.
Milam County Junior Livestock Show Broiler Orders - Due: November 28,
2008
The deadline to order broilers for MCJLS is Friday, November 28, 2008.
This will be a pullet and cockeral show. If a mixed pen is shown it will
be in the cockeral division. Cost per bird is $1.30 each and 25 birds
ordered per exhibitor per entry. Payment must be received by deadline.
The birds will be wing banded. Any birds that lose a wing band will not
be eligible to be shown.
Distribution date of the broilers is Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at the Youth
Exposition Building in Cameron between 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Please
contact the extension office to order your broilers.
